Taos Java
About This Spot
Stepping into Taos Java feels like entering a quietly welcoming corner of Taos where time slows just enough for meaningful moments to settle in. Tucked along Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, this coffee shop offers a gentle rhythm—inviting both early risers and leisurely afternoon visitors to savor the space without rush or fuss. The warm wood tones and subtle touches of handcrafted décor, from unique table art to thoughtful woodwork, create an intimate backdrop where conversations can unfold naturally, whether you’re meeting friends or quietly enjoying a moment alone.
The atmosphere is softly lively yet never loud, making it a perfect spot to settle into a good book, catch up with a companion, or simply watch the day unfold outside the windows. Friendly faces behind the counter add to the feeling of a neighborhood gathering place, serving up carefully prepared coffee and tea drinks made with genuine care. Whether you’re drawn to a rich cortado, a smooth iced coffee, or a comforting hot apple cider, the beverages here feel crafted as much for the warmth they bring as for their flavor. Accompanying snacks, like a bagel with lox or a freshly warmed muffin, provide just enough to keep you grounded without overwhelming the laid-back environment.
What sets Taos Java apart is its harmonious blend of convenience and calm—a spot that’s open early enough for a quick morning pitstop, including a drive-thru when you’re on the go, yet still offers a space where you can lean into a slower pace. The thoughtfully curated details, from the comfortable seating to the quietly creative touches, invite repeat visits and encourage strangers to become familiar faces. It’s a place that embraces the subtle joys of community—a gentle pause amid the wider Taos rhythm.

As others have shared, it’s a friendly place. It also has a convenient location and good drinks and snacks. We got a smoothie and muffin, both of which were good. There was a nice vibe with enough space for several conversations to take place without feeling loud. Nice decor, which adds warmth to the cafe. Check out the creative custom-made table art (ours was a coin design) and woodwork.

Really cute decor and some of the best coffee I've had in a while. The employees were so friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend this place! There is a drive-thru too.

My sister, mother, and I came in about 40-30 mins before closing, and we had the most pleasant and wonderful experience. None of the staff made us feel rushed or like we were an inconvenience. In fact, it was quite the opposite! They were so accommodating and so lovely. Everything that we ordered was made perfectly and deliciously. We will definitely come back time and time again!

Charming coffee/tea shop. They offer delicious breakfast foods, different kinds of coffee and teas, hot apple cider, smoothies, and frappes. The vibe is relaxed and comfortable, whether you're there as a family or single person.

Great little spot! Besides Starbucks and McDonald's, this is the only coffee shop in the area that is open early in the morning. 6am on weekdays, 7am weekends. They also have a drive through. Very cute interior and the staff is lovely. The breakfast burrito was good, but not worth $8... especially for something that is heated up in the microwave. The red salsa served with it is very good and just the right amount of spicy. Great selection of tea and lots of coffee drink options. The pastries looked really good, but I did not try any. They also have oatmeal and smoothies.

cool little place to visit, the guy who took my order was a bit off putting but that’s how it is with all coffee shop employees in my experience . i love the environment inside though, it’s amazing.

If you love coffee as much a I do you will love Taos Java! This is under new management and honestly has to be one of the friendliest establishments I have been too. You will actually be treated like a real human being here and not a number, the counter staff all had smiles on their faces! Bakery items are from World famous Chocolate Maven and are to die for. There is a drive thru, an area to sit in front of a fire and lots of tables, best part is they open at 6 am, Monday through Friday, 7am on the weekends! Enjoy the java...

We visited on Easter Sunday, and it was the best. The staff were so kind and the service was excellent. We got the burritos- be aware these are monster sized perfect for fueling up before a long day of skiing! D efinitely a must stop for a coffee lover in Taos
